Asbestos Management Surveys
The purpose of a management survey is to identify the presence and location of any asbestos in a building which could give rise to a risk of exposure to respirable asbestos fibres. This includes ACM that could be damaged or disturbed during normal occupancy or maintenance and installation work. The information collected from a management survey is used to develop an asbestos management plan.
Asbestos Refurbishment & Demolition Surveys
The purpose of a refurbishment or demolition survey is to locate all asbestos containing materials (ACM) within a building, or within the fabric of the building, before any refurbishment or demolition work commences. ACM may be hidden behind fixed walls, floors, ceilings etc.
These surveys are fully intrusive and may involve exposing parts of a buildings structure to confirm presence/absence of ACM. Because of their intrusive nature, these surveys should only be conducted in unoccupied areas.
Asbestos Surveys & Management Plans
Asbestos Surveys are a great way to get a full picture of what asbestos you have in your property. An asbestos survey does not only identify areas/materials which may be of risk to people, it also identifies areas/materials that may not be a risk to people, such as asbestos containing material that is in good condition. Asbestos survey information can be used to create an asbestos management plan which is a requirement for commercial landlords to be compliant under the Health and Safety at Work (Asbestos) Regulations 2016.
